Christopher H. Sartisohn's experimental novel Gargoyle Hotel is the first installment in his Carbon City Trilogy, an avant-garde collection fusing postmodernism, surrealism, slipstream, stream-of-consciousness and Beat literary movements. 
      
Sartisohn's writing has been compared to the works of William S. Burroughs, James Joyce, T.S. Eliot, Thomas Pynchon, Jorge Luis Borges, Tom Waits, Charles Bukowski, Hunter S. Thompson and Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
